What I ate today 04-01-2016

I have started this new section on our blog to give an honest answer to “What I ate today”. This may seem a little strange but I attend a slimming world group and we always get asked if we gained or even if we lose what have we eaten in the week. This will be a reflection for me to see what I do actually eat and a way for me to analyse how I can improve my eating habits and reach my goal weight in time for Disney World! If I come across recipes that are delicious or meals that I have made that have been a success in my house (Matt is really picky) I will include these in the post! So what did I eat today?!

It started out well I promise…

Breakfast

I woke up later than intended so I ended up with a sugar free “Blue spark” which is a cheaper alternative of that energy drink that we all love and a Blueberry Free From yoghurt. Dairy upsets my stomach so I try not to consume too much of it, these were ok the fact that they are only 73 calories makes it easier to stomach!

Lunch

On the slimming world plan Bachelors Pasta & Sauce are either free or really low in syn so as I was feeling lazy I made the Macaroni & Cheese (252 calories per serving).

Dinner

Well this is where it all started to go wrong, I hadn’t got anything out for dinner and we were going to the cinema. Cue Matt saying “shall we just go out?, It is date night.” So we ended up in Bella Italia armed with a 40% off of food voucher and a voucher we got for Christmas (I’m pretty sure this is the cheapest meal out we’ve ever had!) I did try and be good, I picked the Bruschetta for start which I shared with Matt in exchange for 2 of his Tempura Prawns and the Agnello Tagliatelle (Lamb ragu!) which was under 600 calories. They were both lovely but Matt sat opposite me eating a pizza…helpful huh!  I would love to say my determination stuck for the whole evening but we both caved in for desert, I got the Cookie Dough Lava Cake. It was amazing, but I do not want to know how many calories are in it!

I’m hoping for a better day tomorrow but the food was lovely! What did you eat today?

You really need to eat something more substantial for breakfast. Like seriously an energy drink and a tiny pot of yogurt?!
